En Español Por Favor Richard is a computer networking engineer (spelled G-E-E-K / N-E-R-D) who designs and implements LAN/WANs using Novell Netware and GNU & Linux. Richard founded imat.com ( Imagine That ) in 1992 when he became a member of the TLG (The Little Garden) co-operative. It was initially used as a means to gate news and e-mail into the RBBS and FIDO nets. Richard will, under duress, admit to holding a few pieces of paper meant to convince you that he knows what he is doing. i.e.: Novell's MCNE (Master CNE), Compaq's ASE (Acredited Systems Engineer), and some nameless piece of paper from IBM that says he knows and understands AIX. If you pressure him even harder, he may admit to other things, but that is a different story. Richard is very active in the GNU & Linux communities and is a co-founder of Linux Cabal which was organized to provide space and resources to the "Free Software", "Open Source" and Linux communities. Richard is also the founder of The CoffeeNet in San Francisco, which was a Linux based Internet coffee house founded in April 1995. Due to the averice, greed, and lack of ethics on the part of Richard's former landlord: Martine Gautier, The CoffeeNet and LinuxCabal lost their home from which to provide the San Francisco Bay Area communities with the free services which we had been providing, however should you visit Guadalajara Jalisco Mexico in the near future be certain to drop in at the new Linux Cabal |
